The Cromwell Police Department has a full-time uniformed police officer, Officer Steven Penn, that monitors all four Cromwell schools during the school year.
The presence of an officer in the schools helps to prevent and reduce crime, aid in disciplinary matters, improve and enhance the relationship between youth and the Police Department, as well as establish a close working relationship between the Police Department and the school system staff.
